Artist Overview
Takalani Chairo (born Takalani Chairo Ndou) is a prolific South African gospel singer, worship leader, and life coach known for her powerful vocal delivery and deeply spiritual songwriting. Born and raised in Tshavhalovhedzi village in the Limpopo province, she began her musical journey at the age of 10. Before stepping into the spotlight as a solo artist, she spent years as a highly sought-after backing vocalist for gospel giants such as Dr Tumi, Takie Ndou, Rofhiwa Manyaga, and Takesure Zamar Ncube.
Her solo career reached a turning point in 2018 with the release of her debut single, “Push (Pray Until Something Happens),” which dominated digital charts and established her as a rising force in the industry. Her sound is characterized by a “spirit-revival” quality, blending contemporary worship with traditional elements, often ministering in her native Tshivenda language. Beyond music, she is a multifaceted entrepreneur and philanthropist, serving as the CEO of Chai Aura beauty house and the founder of Women On The Move International (WOMI), an organization dedicated to mentoring young women from disadvantaged backgrounds.
In 2026, Takalani Chairo has continued to expand her ministry through significant collaborations with the Mmuso Worship collective. She is a featured lead on their 2026 live album, The Holy One, appearing on standout tracks such as “Holy Holy, Who Was and Is” and the spontaneous worship piece “Thank You For Fighting For Me.” Her recent work highlights her evolution into a “prophetic” worship leader, focusing on creating atmospheric environments for spiritual encounter and healing.
